Performing Arts
About the Hole in the Wall Puppet Theatre:
Established in 1990 by Robert Brock, this 60-seat Victorian theatre offers entertainment for audiences of all ages from children's productions to Friday Night cabarets for the Over 21 Club. All performing puppets and marionettes are made in the HIW workshop. They can be viewed, along with marionettes and puppets form around the world, in the John Durang Puppet Museum before performances and at the scheduled hours. The theatre is the birthplace of John Durang (1768-1822), the first American-born actor, dancer, and puppeteer of note. HIW was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2001 and is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
