PARADIGMS LOST: John Milton Meets Thomas Kuhn
Gail Gray's works in mixed media of polymer paint, venetian plaster and glazes on canvas exemplify how philosophy, language, and science influence contemporary art. She invokes the pun to tease out connections between the poetic concepts of Milton and the discourse-changing thinking of Kuhn (The Structure of Scientific Revolutions) and emerges with images translated as art.

Luigi Rist: Master Printmaker
Examining the printmaking of Luigi Rist (1888-1959). Rist was a master at capturing subtle painterly variations in his woodblock prints using the traditional Japanese method. Trained as a traditional oil painter, Rist began print-making in mid-life and perfected his methodology over a 10-year period. Rist spent the last four years of his life in Lancaster County.

Scott Wright: Paintings 1989-2009
The imagery of Wright's large-scale paintings encompasses the major rivers and ecosystems of the mid-Atlantic and grew out of digital photographs taken while over-flying rivers, marshes, and deltas in a small plane. Wright teaches painting and serves as Artist-in-Residence for the Wohlsen Center for the Sustainable Environment at F&M College. Textile Traditions of Lancaster County
Special exhibition Rainbow Yarns: Navajo Rugs, Germantown Yarns & the PA Connection chronicles how brightly colored Germantown yarns were introduced by traders to Navajo weavers. The museum's permanent collection showcases quilts produced by Amish women in Lancaster County between the 1870's and the 1940's, along with other Amish artifacts in an interactive exhibition.

Rain Barrel Art
In partnership with local artists and galleries, LIVE Green, an urban greening initiative based in the city of Lancaster, presents artistry on functional rain barrels. These one-of-a-kind barrels promote awareness of the positive impact rain barrels can have on storm water management. The barrels are on display at Building Character, Carmen & David's Creamery, Chestnut Hill Cafe, Living Light Gallery, and Mommalicious. Silent auction bids accepted.
