About LancasterARTS

The mission of LancasterARTS is to cultivate an environment where the arts can flourish. We serve as a hub for the arts, creating synergy within the arts community and enhancing the arts presence in the City for the benefit or artists and arts organizations as well as businesses, residents and visitors.

LancasterARTS evolved from a cooperative initiative of organizations and representatives of the arts community. LancasterARTS is unique compared to the efforts of many cities that have created art districts in a specific corridor of their city. Although Lancaster City has an area where there is a high concentration of art and cultural venues, LancasterARTS is neither a district, nor a council. Rather, it is an organization that recognizes and promotes the breadth of arts and cultural offerings throughout the city.

One of LancasterARTS' key roles is promoting the arts in the City of Lancaster to a broad audience locally and regionally. Our signature event is the popular First Fridays. LancasterARTS connects organizations and individuals to facilitate their arts-related endeavors. Overall, LancasterARTS works as advocate, facilitator, and catalyst to achieve the elements of a sustainable environment for the arts in the City of Lancaster.
